I think for some fans, nothing less than Feig saying, "I was wrong" will satisfy them. Any attempt to defend himself or his work is interpreted as "insulting the fans."

Fanbases have become accustomed to Marvel doing an extra Mandarin video just to placate them. A director standing by his work is not what they want to see.
I think he should do what Joel Schumacher did. It was years later, but he apologized for Batman & Robin. He said something along the lines of of he only meant to entertain people and was sorry he didn't live up to expectations.

Though in this case I feel Paul should do it sooner than later. On a related note, even unadjusted for inflation, Batman & Robin made more money than the reboot. That's just sad.

Whether we like the film, whether we dont, Paul Feig did the job that he was hired to do. He makes a certain type of movie with a certain type of humor with a certain cast. The movie was always going to be a Feig movie so theres really no point in hating on him for doing what Sony hired him to do. If you hired Tarantino to do it you wouldnt expect it to not be a Tarantino movie. The people at fault are Sony and specifically Amy Pascal, who had a vision for the film that was never going to please people who wanted a real GB movie and was never going to be the blockbuster hit we wanted to revive the GB franchise.

While we are at it: Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd should apologize for not getting a sequel done in 25 years. This franchise got in this unique situation where even making a canon videogame was an almost impossible task, with Bill only doing half his lines so he is absent for various scenes (or Winston/Ray took over) and doing a bored try at it.

We could have got a third movie back in 2008/09 had they got their act together. I don't think Sony pushed hard enough.

Well when you put it that way; I think everyone that helped make Ghostbusters 2016 should apologies too. They are all accomplices.

I really don't see why Paul would need to apologies for something he enjoyed doing or anyone for that matter. The only thing that would do is add more fuel to the fire. Look I'm not the biggest fan of his, but I receipt the guy for standing his ground. It sucks that it didn't work out very well. The only thing to do now is for Sony, Paul and everyone associated with Ghostbusters is to learn from the mistakes and do better next time.

Meanwhile, a friend of mine just let know he just saw the movie and was surprised to find he liked it, lol. He's not the first. So no, I'm not so quick to declare it "didn't work out" or that anyone needs to apologize. The river of slime is deep enough as it is.

Some of my friends and family live in Flint, and it's a damn shame what's happened. Our governor should be behind bars. This is neither the time nor place though.

The whole situation is terrible. It's really too bad something like that could even happen.

With a thread title "What Ernie Hudson felt the reboot was missing" and you making a disclaimer about pornography, I feel like I missed out on something here.

Oh every time I think of Batman & Robin I keep thinking of the unmade Batman Triumphant. I always shed a tear because it would have been such a cool movie to end the Burton/Schumacher movie series on.

Agh screw it, they could still make it!

Hollywood stupidity. Don't worry, you'll be happy to hear it's not isolated to just 2016.
